Royal scribe under David and Solomon; father of the Solomon-era secretaries Elihoreph and Ahijah. The differing names in 2 Samuel 8:17, 2 Samuel 20:25, 1 Kings 4:3, and 1 Chronicles 18:16 are usually harmonized as the same officer.
