Canaanite of Jericho; harbored the two Israelite spies and confessed Yahweh as God in heaven and on earth. Spared at the destruction of Jericho. Per Matthew 1:5, became the wife of Salmon and mother of Boaz; thus an ancestress of David and Christ.
