Description

Father of Ananias the high priest who presided at Paul's hearing before the Sanhedrin (Acts 23:2); known from Josephus as Nedebaeus of the priestly aristocracy.

The patronymic 'son of Nedebaeus' is preserved by Josephus (Antiquities 20.103) rather than directly in Acts.
