Description

Cousin of Barnabas; son of Mary of Jerusalem (in whose house the church met). Accompanied Paul and Barnabas on the first journey but left at Perga. Later restored to Paul's circle and to Peter's. Author of the second Gospel; tradition links him to the church at Alexandria.
