Jonah

Description

Son of Amittai of Gath-hepher in Zebulun; prophesied under Jeroboam II ca. 780 BC. Fled to Tarshish to avoid preaching to Nineveh; swallowed by a great fish. Eventually preached, the city repented, and Jonah sulked. Jesus invoked the 'sign of Jonah' for his own resurrection.
