Daughter of Haran; mentioned only once. Some Jewish traditions identify her with Sarah, but the biblical text does not state this and Genesis 20:12 specifies Sarah's father as Terah, not Haran.

Identification with Sarah is rabbinic tradition (Megillah 14a, Sanhedrin 69b) and is followed by Josephus, but is not asserted in scripture; Genesis 20:12 conflicts with this identification by naming Terah, not Haran, as Sarah's father.
