Youngest son of Ham; cursed by Noah to be servant of his brothers' descendants (Genesis 9:25). Eponymous progenitor of the Canaanite peoples; father of Sidon, Heth, and the eponymous ancestors of the Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites, Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, Arvadites, Zemarites, and Hamathites.
