Description
A figure attested in the Septuagint (Genesis 11:13 LXX) and in Luke 3:36 between Arphaxad and Shelah. Absent from the Masoretic Hebrew text and from 1 Chronicles 1:18 MT. Distinct from the earlier Sethite Kenan, son of Enosh.

Notes
Present in the Septuagint and in the New Testament Lukan genealogy; absent from the Hebrew Masoretic Text. Some manuscript traditions of the LXX also vary on his inclusion. Stored as a separate person so that Masoretic and Lukan/Septuagint genealogies can both be represented faithfully.
